What Makes Britain Great, Part IV

Bandstands

Too be perfectly honest, I’m not sure if bandstands have ever been popular around the US or not. I know in the 1800s they were popular in some cities, but as they grew, I thing bandstands were outgrown.

It seems that bandstands in Britain, however, were a mainstay of social life well into the 60s – by my guess.

Of course now whenever people want to listen to an orchestra or band or any other musical group, they’re most often found at a concert hall of some type.
