Tea Tip Tuesday: Reducing Breast Cancer Risk

I know, today isn’t Tuesday, but I’m sharing this as if it were. The source I get the information from isn’t very consistent as of late, so I must share when I get the information. There was no source material provided, so on this one I would do further research on your own. Of course there’s no risk in simply drinking tea to begin with, but relying on it to reduce your risk of breast (or any other kind of) cancer is something that requires further research.

“Tea and your Health: Reduced Risk of Breast Cancer!

Compared with non-drinkers, regular tea drinkers had a 21 per cent decreased risk of breast cancer. This beneficial finding is likely to be associated with the polyphenol content of tea. Tea is rich in polyphenols, including catechins and gallocatchins, which have been reported to have antioxidant activity and potential anti-tumour effect. As a result, this study provides further data on the health benefits of tea, which is the most popular beverage, after water, in the United Kingdom.”
