For several years now, my mother has been tracing our family’s ancestry. A few months ago, she attended a family society meeting in North Carolina. She’s managed to trace part of the family’s history back to various parts of Europe and while we’ve known for some time that part of our family came from England (as well as Scotland), it’s only been quite recently that we’ve discovered a specific place in England that our ancestors had firmly established roots. So firmly established that according to one list I’ve seen, the family has had a presence in that area since the 1100s. It’s in an area of the country I’ve never visited, which should make it a grand adventure upon my next visit there.
I’ll be looking into a lot of Arborfield Village in Berkshire. ❤
